BNDES loan of $238m finances EDP wind farm in Brazil
Brazil’s state development bank BNDES has approved BRL1 billion ($238 million) in financing for a renewable energy project in the northern state of Rio Grande do Norte.
The complex, run by EDP Renováveis Brasil, an arm of the Portuguese group EDP, comprises six wind farms and will have a capacity of 319.2MW - enough energy to serve about 800,000 homes. Construction will begin in January 2021, BNDES said.
