EBRD finances wastewater project in Ruse, Bulgaria

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is extending a loan of up to €8.7 million for a project to improve water and wastewater services is the region of Ruse, Bulgaria.

The loan, to the Ruse Water Supply and Sanitation Company, will be used to rehabilitate 63km of water supply pipelines, build over 40km of wastewater collection infrastructure and 5.5km of water transmission main between the town of Slivo Pole and the village of Borisovo. The loan consists of €5.9 million EBRD financing and €2.8 million from the EU’s European Structural and Investment Funds.
