Portal North Bridge priority rating upgraded

The US Federal Transit Administration has upgraded the priority rating to medium-high for the $1.8 billion Portal North Bridge replacement project. Congress has approved the federal grant for the two-track moveable swing-span railroad bridge over the Hackensack River, and with the new rating the project qualifies for the money. NJ Transit and Amtrak are lead-sponsors for the project which is fully permitted and designed.
