NEXI provides reinsurance for Tanzania SGR project

Nippon Export and Investment Insurance will provide reinsurance on export credit for the Standard Gauge Railway project in Tanzania, undertaken by Danish export credit agency EKF. 

It represents the first reinsurance project under the agreement between NEXI and EKF signed last August. Rail track for the project manufactured by Nippon Steel Corporation has been exported through Mitsui & Co for use in the two under-construction lots between Dar es Salaam and Morogoro and between Morogoro and Makutupora.

Five other ECAs -Austria's OeKB, Euler Hermes of Germany, Italy's SACE, CESCE of Spain, and Swiss group SERV - are involved in the project.
