ADB signs on debt for Bangladeshi solar plant

Asian Development Bank (ADB) has signed a $17.7 million 12-year loan that will part finance the 35MW Spectra Solar Park (SSPL) project – a joint venture between Spectra Engineers and Shunfeng Investments – in Bangladesh. DEG is also providing $18.5 million loan for the scheme. Green Delta Capital was lead arranger for the financing.

The project is backed by a 20-year power purchase agreement with Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) which signed in 2018.
