The Development Bank of Central African States (BDEAC) has agreed financing of $137 million for a 200MW hydroelectric power plant project in Equatorial Guinea. The funds will enable construction work to continue on the Sendje plant at Weller River, about 40km from Bata.

The work is being carried out by Ukrainian company Duglas Alliance. It includes the construction of a 21.57km2 reservoir and the installation of four turbines, each with a capacity of 50MW, supplied by Alstom, a company based in France.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of this year with a voltage output of about 220kV and an average annual output of approximately 1,402 million kWh.
