IsDB to help finance 100km road improvement project in Uganda

Uganda has commissioned multi-billion road works for the construction of the 100km Rwekunyu-Apac-Lira-Puranga road. 

The project, which is being part-funded by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), has an original contract price of over $90 million and is due to be completed in 36 months. The involves the whole route being upgraded from gravel to bitumin. It will also boost trade along the corridor by facilitating transport services for agricultural products.
