OPEC Fund helps finance clean drinking water project in Lesotho

The OPEC Fund for International Development has signed a $30 million loan agreement with Lesotho to finance clean drinking water and improve health and living conditions in the Botha-Bothe region. 

The project involves the construction of new water infrastructure, including water points and connections to households. On completion, the new infrastructure will provide water for the population as well as for industrial and institutional use.  

The work is being co-financed by the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development and the Saudi Fund for Development, as well as the government of Lesotho.
