JICA finances Sierra Leone children’s hospital project

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has agreed to help finance the construction of a children’s hospital and installation of medical equipment in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

The lender will provide up to JPY2.383 billion (about $21.9 million) for the facility's construction, including a specialty outpatient unit, an emergency unit, as well as for medical equipment such as a biochemical analyzer. The project is scheduled to take 67 months to complete.
