Given the urgency of energy transition related projects, DFI direct lending to project and export finance deals has risen significantly in recent years – but it is still below pre-pandemic levels. Are DFIs providing sufficient project financing support to generate the mobilisation of private funding required to meet climate goals? And what more could they do?
