Africa accounts for 17% of the global population, but holds less than 1% of the world's data centre capacity. For developers, navigating the grids, energy sources, and, most crucially, the shortage of demand is a challenge, limiting expansion to only five countries. Fortunately, DFIs, governments, and the hyperscalers are already playing complementary roles to open new doors.
