IFC and EBRD back first Lebanon green bond issue

The EBRD and IFC have taken $15 million and $45 million respectively of a $60 million green bond debut by Fransabank – the first green bond issue in Lebanon and part of a planned $150 million Fransabank programme. The issue is designed to enable Fransabank to scale up its lending to commercial energy efficiency, renewable energy and green building projects in the country.
