FMO, Proparco finance production of green energy from sugar residue in Uganda

France's Proparco and Dutch development bank FMO have provided financing to Ugandan sugar manufacturing group SCOUL to fund a new 26MW cogeneration power plant. Proparco granted a €20 million loan and catalyzed funds from the Dutch development bank FMO. The plant will allow the company to produce green electricity at a competitive price to meet its own needs and to be sold to the national grid project.
