IFC to advise on ADB-financed Gautam Buddha airport project

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is to be appointed as the transaction advisory service provider for the Asian Development Bank-financed Gautam Buddha International Airport upgrade project in Nepal.
The Asian Development Bank and OPEC Fund for International Development have provided $58.5 million and $15 million, respectively for the upgrade of the airport. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal will provide the remaining funds.
As the government has been planning to operate the yet-to-be upgraded international airport in Bhairahawa, the IFC had submitted a proposal to the government expressing its willingness to deliver the service on grant.
