The Philippines to discuss financing of Build Build Build projects with China

The Philippines' Department of Finance is set to discuss loan arrangements with China for the first basket of infrastructure projects under the Build, Build, Build programme. The meetings are set to take place from August 22 to 24 and will include representative from the Chinese government, China International Development Cooperation Agency, Export-Import Bank of China, and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.

The first raft of projects comprises of the Chico River Pump Irrigation Project, the New Centennial Water Source-Kaliwa Dam Project, the Philippine National Railways' South Long Haul Project, the Davao-Samal Bridge Construction Project, and the Binondo-Intramuros and Estrella-Pantaleon bridges that are being funded with grants from China.

A second phase of projects that may be discussed includes the Ambal-Simuay River and Rio Grande de Mindanao River Flood Control Projects, the Pasig-Marikina River and Manggahan Floodway Bridges Construction Project, the Subic-Clark Railway Project, the Safe Philippines Project Phase I, and the Rehabilitation of the Agus-Pulangi Hydroelectric Power Plants Project.
