San Francisco gets $699m loan for sewer upgrade
The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) has received a $699 million low-interest loan from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to part fund the upgrade of the city's aging sewer system. The Southeast Treatment Plant Biosolids Digester Facilities Project is being led by environmental engineering and construction firm Brown and Caldwell. Construction is expected to commence in early 2019 and become fully operational by 2025.
