Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) has reached financial close on the $250 million 296MW Potrero Solar project, the company's second solar build in Mexico. The deal signed with the IFC and Bancomext in March, and the project is expected to be fully operational by mid-2020.

Potrero Solar will be located in Lagos de Moreno, in the state of Jalisco, and will use bifacial photovoltaic modules, a new technology that has the ability to capture both direct sunlight from both the front and reflected light from the rear side. EPC contractors are PowerChina and Prodiel.
