NIB, Helgeland Sparebank finance green investments in Arctic Norway
Nordic Investment Bank and Norway’s Helgeland Sparebank have agreed a new five-year loan programme of NOK300 million (€29.7 million) for onlending to small and medium-sized companies and environmental projects in northern Norway.
Environmental projects that are eligible for financing under the loan facility include, for example, renewable energy investments, waste reduction in agriculture, biogas digestion and investments leading to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
The loan facility is also earmarked for onlending to SMEs in the region. Helgeland Sparebank’s SME clients are active in the areas of real estate, transport, farming and forestry.
