Sinohydro signs for three solar projects in Guinea-Bissau

The Chinese group Sinohydro Corporation has won the tender to build three solar projects in Guinea-Bissau that will be financed by the West African Development Bank. A contract was signed with the Societe Africaine des Biocarburants et des Energies Renouvelables (SABER) / African Biofuel and Renewable Energy Company (ABREC) on behalf of the country's government. The main project is a 20MW PV plant and transmission connection to the Bor substation, to be located at Gardete near the city of Bissau. A further two 1MW hybrid projects using solar with diesel generators and battery storage will be located at Canchungo and  Gabu.
