Project consultant sought for Toktogul Rehab Phase 3
Kyrgyzstan’s state power producer Electric Power Plants (EPP) is inviting expressions of interest by 8 April from consulting engineering firms to assist with the third phase of the rehabilitation of the 1200MW Toktogul hydropower plant on the river Naryn in the western province of Jalal-Abad.
The firm will be responsible for supporting the Project Implementation Unit in project administration, design and engineering, services, contracting, management control, procurement and expediting of equipment, materials control, inspection of equipment prior to delivery, shipments, transportation, control of schedule and quality, pre-commissioning and completion, performance guarantee testing during construction and commissioning of the project and through the defects liability period. The expected contract period is from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2024.
The Toktogul Rehabilitation Phase 3 project aims to replace the two remaining turbine-generator units and associated auxiliary systems. The Asian Development Bank is helping to finance Phase 3.
The project entails the following procurement contracts: Toktogul turbine-generator units 1 and 3 replacement (procurement was performed under Phase 2); civil structure refurbishment; and, overhaul of the dam monitoring system in Toktogul, Kurpsai, Tashkumyr, Shamaldy-Sai and Uch Kurgan dams; all the dams form part of the Naryn cascade.
