Brazilian rail passenger association ANPTrilhos says that train and subway concessionaires, hit by fallout from COVID-19, have around 40 days of capital remaining and is requesting an emergency credit line to keep them running. The association has asked the government and BNDES for a credit line to guarantee working capital for private concessionaires, which include ViaQuatro, Via Mobilidade, SuperVia, MetroRio, VLT Rio and CCR Metro Bahia. ANPTrilhos estimates losses for all operators in the first nine days of lockdown since the coronavirus outbreak at BRL271 million ($51.5 million).
