CAF, the Latin American development bank, has approved financing of $100 million for a road and port project in Paraguay.

The project reduces the logistical costs of using the Puerto Indio jetty for the export of soy, corn and wheat production to Brazil through Puerto Santa Helena. In addition to the paving of 61km of the national route No.21, the project includes improvements to the pier area of Puerto Indio, such as the construction of a service area for trucks at the head of the port, improvements in its charging infrastructure, lighting and security measures.
