DEG agrees $12m loan to finance Yangon hospital expansion

Germany's DEG – Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft – is providing Asia Royal Company with a long-term loan worth $12 million to modernise and expand a 250-bed hospital in Yangon to 330 beds. 

The extension, which is due to open in September 2020, will almost double the hospital’s bed capacity in intensive care and create another 300 new jobs.
