The European Investment Bank and Germany's LBBW are providing PLN184 million (about €42 million) each to finance the construction and operation of four wind farms in Poland’s Wielkopolskie region.

The wind farms will be developed by German wpd AG in Jarocin Kozmin, Jarocin Wschod, Krotoszyn and Slupca Kolaczkowo, near Poznan. They will have a total installed capacity of 102.5MW, which enables them to power more than 60,000 households at peak times. The facilities will be operated by project companies belonging to wpd europe GmbH, a subsidiary of wpd AG.

The EIB financing is backed by a guarantee from the European Fund for Strategic Investments, the central pillar of the Investment Plan for Europe.
