The Nordic Investment Bank and Swedish Sparbanken Alingsås AB have signed a €29.3 million loan agreement for on-lending to environmental projects and small and medium-sized enterprises and smaller mid-caps in Sweden.

A substantial part of the seven-year loan facility is allocated to local SMEs and smaller mid-caps in Västra Götaland County in the southwestern Sweden. Sparbanken Alingsås's environmental policies require all corporate loans of SEK1 million or more to undergo a sustainability analysis prior to credit decisions. NIB and Sparbanken Alingsås have agreed that 30% of the loan programme will be used for on-lending to environmental projects such as green buildings and solar panels.
