NYSERDA awards $1.4bn of renewables projects

New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) has awarded $1.4 billion of utility-scale renewable projects as part of the Clean Climate Careers initiative.The average award price of $21.71 per MWh over the 20-year term of the contracts will support 22 solar farms, three wind farms and one hydroelectric project with a combined 1380MW of capacity. The largest projects were the three wind farms that included Invenergy's 340MW Alle-Catt Wind project in Allegany and Cattaraugus County, EverPower Wind Holdings' 272MW Baron Winds in Steuben County and the 122MW Bluestone Wind project in Broome County. Most solar projects targeted 20MW of capacity with Hudson Energy Enterprise's 100MW Flint Mine Solar in Greene County being the largest.
