KfW finances Tunisian water desalination plant

German development bank KfW has signed an €82 million loan deal with Tunisia to finance a water desalination plant in the town of Zarat.

The project is estimated to cost €96.5 million, with the Tunisian government set to contribute €14.5 million. Interest on the loan is expected to be 1.86% payable over 15 years with a five-year grace period.
