The European Investment Bank has agreed an €80 million loan to Kosovo for the construction of a new 30km single carriageway motorway on Route 6b between Peja and Kijeve.

It will help to improve regional transport integration and the development of strategic connections with the neighbouring countries. Alongside the EIB financing - representing the largest loan ever signed by Kosovo with an international financial institution - a €3.2 million grant under the Western Balkan Investment Framework, complemented by a €1 million grant under the EIB's Economic Resilience Initiative, will support the preparation and the implementation of the project.
