NDB approves $200m loan for Durban container berth project
The New Development Bank has approved a $200million loan for the Durban container terminal berth reconstruction project. The scheme is aimed at helping transport parastatal Transnet to enhance capacity of the port. It includes the rehabilitation of its container terminal berths and the upgrading of port infrastructure to provide additional slots for larger vessels. The project was one of six from the five member countries worth a total of $1.6 billion approved this week by the NDB.
