India plans August RfP for first offshore wind development

India's Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and the Gujarati government are holding meetings on the July 23 and 24 to discuss the country's first offshore wind development and plans to issue the request for proposals in August. The 1GW project, to be located 12 miles off the Pipavav coast, attracted 35 expressions of interest. The EU is providing funding and technical assistance for a 200MW first phase.
