MPUVNL's 35MW rooftop solar tender attracts record low tariffs
Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (MPUVNL) has attracted 31 bidders for its 35.29 MW rooftop solar tender that will see projects developed at 643 schools and government sites across the state. AMP Solar India submitted an historic low tariff of Rs1.58 per unit for 2.25MW of solar capacity at 10 Power Grid Corporation sites. Azure Power was awarded the most capacity with 5.4 MW to be installed at 291 colleges under the Department of Higher Education while Mundra Solar was awarded 4MW at Rs1.90. Prices will increase 3% annually over the course of the 25-year concessions.
The projects will be developed under the Indian government's Rooftop Solar Program with support from World Bank and International Solar Alliance.
