EIB agrees grant to help finance water and sewage project in Jordan
The European Investment Bank and Jordan have signed a €16.3 million grant agreement to support the Deir Alla and Al-Karamah project to improve water supply systems in the regions of Jordan.
The project, which received €65 million in EIB financing in February, also involves the construction of a centralised sewage collection and treatment network in Deir Al Alla district.
The grant, which comes under the Economic Resilience Initiative Fund and complements the EIB’s financing of the project, will contribute to improving water supply and sanitation services for more than 85,000 inhabitants in the Jordan Valley area.
