DfT funding for 4 UK biofuel projects
The UK Government’s Department for Transport (DfT) has announced funding for four advanced biofuel plants as part of its Transport Decarbonisation Plan.KEW Projects and Rika Biogas have been awarded a share of £6.5 million to build plants to provide green fuel for heavy goods vehicles under the government’s £20 million Future Fuels for Flight and Freight Competition. The project at KEW will also research the potential for developing low carbon aviation fuel. Two further projects progressing towards final development stages will be funded under the £25 million Advanced Biofuels Demonstration Competition. This includes Nova Pangaea Technologies' bioethanol from wood waste project.
