EBRD signs risk participation deal with Bank Al Etihad

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is co-financing a transaction under the Risk Sharing Framework in support of the private sector in Jordan. The move is designed to increase access to finance during the current economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic

The bank is providing an unfunded guarantee of $5 million to Bank Al Etihad in support of one of the leading garment manufacturers and exporters in Jordan. It represents EBRD's first such transaction in the southern and eastern Mediterranean region.
